Christmas Concerto and Carol of the Bells
As part of their recent performances, ‘Christmas by Candlelight’ at Saxon Barn, Quartet Draig performed a unique programme of varied repertoire linked together as sets rather than adhering to the conventional concert format. This video is an example of this programming, as a snippet of Corelli’s Christmas Concerto transitions into well known Christmas song, Carol of the Bells.
Hymn of the Cherubim
Quartet Draig were keen to include some well known choral works into their Christmas concert programmes as they can work well for quartet since the choral parts correlate nicely with the different instruments. Here, the quartet can be heard playing Tchaikovsky’s Hymn of the Cherubim, arranged for string quartet.
